Newsprint
All of the newsprint purchased by The Kent Messenger Group is either 100% recycled or obtained from FSC regulated replenishable sources.

Recycling

Waste paper and cardboard
All of our printed and unprinted waste paper produced during printing and the cardboard from reel wrappers and consumable packaging is recycled via SCA recycling.

Printing plates
Used aluminium printing plates are returned to our supplier and subsequently recycled.
Chemicals
All of the chemicals used in the plate making process, in the press hall, and waste inks are collected on site by a specialist certified waste treatment company, J&G Environmental Services.
J&G Environmental Services also collect and clean all of our empty ink and chemical containers and recycle them into new plastics.
Polythene
All of the waste polythene produced during the polywrapping process is collected by J&G Environmental Services and recycled into new plastic suitable for producing building materials such as Drainpipes.
